Hey friends,

Sorry it's been a while. School has been keeping me busy, so I haven't had a lot of time to sew :(. But, I did get a custom order back at the end of August for a padded camera bag which I was able to finally get around to finishing. Here are some pictures...





I love how it turned out! The front is such an amazing pattern, which made me want to do the back in the classic, blue polka dot. I figured a simple drawstring would be best so she can have easy access to the camera.
This was my most ambitious work thus far in the sewing game and I honestly love it! I am very proud of how it turned out.

Will be sewing again soon, so look for an update on the status of the next collection my December!

Fall, fell down

I just finished uploading Fall! It was a lot of work, but to see the final outcome was worth it all! Thirteen wallets!
Here is a view of a couple of lovely pieces...





When I found this fabric I was shocked by how well it all went together. It's been really hard for me to find enough matching fabric to create a collection of this size. I'm going to definately be frequenting fabric stores more often!~

Ooohh my

Last week I was on vacation in North Dakota. As I was wondering around the small town my boyfriend is from, I spotted a fabric store. It's been a while since I've actually stepped foot in a store since I order most of my fabric online. The first words out of my mouth as I stepped into what I can only describe as 'fabric heaven' were 'Oooh my.' Fabric heaven in North Dakota! I never would have imagined!

I ended up grasping multiple handfuls of the most beautiful hand-dyed fabric I have ever seen in my life. It was quite a rush! After almost drooling on all of them, I handpicked my favorites for the Fall collection. I am so excited to share this collection with you all, I know I say that all the time but seriously I AM EXCITED! The more I work on them the more excited I get. To top it off this is going to be one of the biggest collections of the year! I am squeeeing just thinking about it.

Start the countdown!

A total of 5 wallets were purchased so far from the Spring and Summer collections. This brings the total to $25 towards the next tattoo goal!

Summer inspiration

The five new items for summer were just uploaded! I am very proud of this line and hope that everyone else loves it as much as I do.

I was lucky enough to get some inspiration for the Summer line. My boyfriend's lovely sister picked me up a canvas bag while she was on vacation. I fell in love with the simplicity of it. Here is a picture for your viewing pleasure...



I tried to take the concept of the bag and incorporate it into the wallets. Each one has very simple parts but like all of my wallets they each have a pop of color as well.

My favorite out of the bunch, in my opinion, shows this the best....



There will be more wallets popping up in the end of Summer/Fall. I'm trying to rock out a lot for you!

Well...

I took a small break to reevaluate my plan for sewing only for tattoos and now I am back!
A total of five new wallets for the Summer collection will be up by Tuesday! I am also taking part in a Yard and Art Sale at the end of July... so I am very excited to be back to sewing.

After reevaluting things I decided to stay true to what I do. I tried incorporating new things for the Spring line and they did not go over as well as I had hoped. I removed them from the site because, to be honest I was slightly disappointed. I did not want that did not break my spirit. I still have tattoos to get and sewing to do! A little blip isn't going to stop me now!

I'll check in after the upload on friday.

Almost go time!

I feel like the anticipation on this tattoo has been building for far too long! Alas, Saturday at 6:30 p.m. I be in Cerny's trusted hands and ready to rock! I will post pictures on the following Monday- so come back to look on the 19th!

Consult!!

I'm currently scheduled for a consultation with none other than the awesome Cerny at Steady Tattoo in Minneapolis (steadytattoo.com). I'm very excited about this!! Cerny has done a lot of work for many of my friends and all of what I have seen of his other work has turned out great. Having a respectable artist do your work is by far the most important thing to me. I'm hoping to do more work with him in the future as well, so having this appointment is a big step to what will hopefully be a great work relationship...

I hope to get the ball rolling on the Spring/Summer collection. Yet, again I'm waiting for supplies... but I do have a few new designs coming down quite well.

Summer Binge

I'm getting far too excited waiting on my first consultation for the next tattoo!!!

So for the time being I have ordered some gorgeous fabric and brand new supplies for the Summer collection! There will be tons of new products... and I can not wait for it to arrive so I can start sewing!

Also I had a thought the other day of entering a contest on etsy.com for someone to design the following tattoo!

end goals and next tattoo

I just wanted to let you all know that today I sold 4 wallets and recieved a nice donation towards the next tattoo! Right now the next tattoo fund is at $87.02. I will be scoping out a few places while I am on vacation to get some pricing, and I'm hoping to come back with something to show off.

So as promised a little insight into the next tattoo.

What I have envisioned is a soft outline of an owl feather drifting down my shoulder blade. There has always been something fascinating to me about seeing feathers drifting down the old country roads I use to live on. They seemed so free and able to just drift off where they wanted until they would find the perfect place to rest. I believe I picked the owl feather intensionally due to the fact that among the people we are visiting, one is my oldest friend from Minneapolis. She has had this slight obsession with owls. So in the end I thought a nice mix of the two would almost be a tribute to the freedom to roam where life takes you without an end to the bonds that certain relationships have on your life.

I'm hopeful that Portland has some decently priced tattoo artists who rock out some great artwork... we'll have to see!

***UPDATE: Portland became too busy of a trip for tattooing. I am setting up an appointment soon for a consultation.

In the mean time I'd like to thank all of you who have supported this project. There will be much more to get soon and more rambles from me before then!

wow! spring has arrived!

Things have been crazy lately! School and work are taking up far too much of my time! Yet it rained in Minneapolis today which only means one thing... spring has arrived!!

That's right, I finally got some of the few spring items up! Which makes me very happy!
I am in love with my small spring collection thus far. I'm hoping after midterms this week and the greatness which is spring break(!) next week to start up my sewing again. This means the spring/summer collection will be filled with awesomeness!

Since a few of the new items are finally up, and I love you all so much, I decided it's time to have a sale as well. Yes, I am just that awesome. From today, March 10th, to March 12 at 8 p.m. all of the best of 2009 wallets are 25% off. That's 3 bucks a pop... seriously you can't find a decent wallet that cheap anywhere!

I'm trying to get as much out out the door in order to get my next tattoo over spring break. So buy, buy, buy!!

I will update on Friday to let you all know the idea I have for the next tattoo, as I always do for every tattoo. I hope you all have a great rest of the week!

spring cravings

I know it's still 19 degrees and below here in MN but today I have been stuck in daydreams of Spring. Although I'm trying to save money for my trip in March I saw these shoes on etsy and had to get them...
First off I never find shoes in my size that are vintage, cheap and this cute, with free shipping. Had to do it. I will be better about my shopping habits with my next check.

So, back to work it is. I received all my supplies the other day. Although I was a little unimpressed with the fabric arrangement I picked out I'm going to 'work it out' and most likely resell the stuff I will not be using.

The first few clutches should be up before V-day... hopefully.

Still working kind of...

The production of the clutches and purses is at a stand still right now. I'm waiting on a few new supplies to come... they just happen to be coming quite slowly.

Although, in the mean time three more wallets sold to bring the total up to $62.97! Goal 2 is to get enough for the next tattoo by my birthday, which is Febuary 27th. I will be talking about the next tattoo soon and what it means to me.

Hooray for praise!

I thought I'd share some of the awesome praise I've gotten this week for the wallets I've sold so far!
